I’m Nicole Gillman, a self-taught portrait drawer, mom, and wife.

I’ve loved drawing for as long as I can remember. I started drawing people when I was a young teenager and have slowly improved over the years.

This blog is where I talk about my long journey, which I’m still traveling. I show my progress, what I’m learning, and what I want to learn.

Whenever I see amazing portraits done, no matter what medium, I get filled with envy. I want to be as good as they are, I want to know the artists process and how they got there. Where did they start? I’m pretty sure I’m not the only person to ask this. But Michelangelo, Monet, and Rembrandt all had to start somewhere, right?

Well, this is my start. I don’t know if I’ll ever become a great artist. I don’t know how much more I’ll improve. But this isn’t my online museum where I’ll only show my best stuff. I’ll show the good, the bad, and the half finished.

I hope you enjoy it. Keep Drawing!
